The Wait is Over!

Today was the final day of my music video! I am so glad it's over. I had a lot of fun this time around doing it with my brother and mom! My family was a tremendous help this time around and will hopefully help again for the next project. Everything I learned from my first commercial project helped me out so much this time around. Everything felt like second nature. Although my music video isn't perfect, I learned a lot. I feel like there is a lot of improvement to be made, but I did pretty well. My favorite part of this had to be the costume part and including my brother in it. I didn't love having to do some filming in a public area, however, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. This was overall a really fun experience and I'm glad it's over. I can't wait to do my next project!

Editing Pro

Today was my second editing day. This is most exciting part of this project for me, especially since it means it’s almost over. After facing all the “scary” parts of this project, such as the storyboard and actual filming, I really enjoy the more relaxed speed of editing. I was actually really excited to edit and put everything together. I choose to use iMovie for editing since I have some experience with it. Although I shot all my clips in order, I had to actually properly put them together. This meant I had to move my clips from my camera roll to the app itself and arrange it correctly. I had roughly over a minute of footage. I can't decide which takes to use. However I'm unsure on exactly how to put it together because I want to ensure the transitions are seamless. I feel like the most difficult part of this editing process will just be making sure everything transitions and flows smoothly. I also need to figure out how to make a voice over, and record it since this is a main aspect of my video. I am focused on just enhancing the music video in general during editing. I think a lot can be improved during editing, but I also have a lot of choices to make. For example, there is some awkwardness in my scenes and I can either cut it out completely or make it work. Unlike the commercial I can't make it work by using the voice over to kind of make it seem natural or comical. I also have to decide if I want to leave the visuals as is or if I want to tweak it with filters or transition effects. The 'hardest' part of editing is gonna be making these important decisions since I am a bit indecisive. This has been the least stressful part of my media projects so far, I'm actually having fun correcting and enhancing my music video. I still have a lot left to do, and will keep you updated!

CUT!

Today was my first day of editing. I didn't realize just how much footage I had! My original video was nearly 1 minute and 30 seconds long! I had to do a lot of cutting and minor speeding up of things. I feel my video is also too choppy. In an attempt to minimize choppiness, I added some transitions which seemed to help. To my surprise, on iMovie, I couldn't simply upload my song to my video. At first, I was really worried as to how I would add it. Then I remembered they have a voiceover option that I used for my commercial! I ended up using the voiceover feature to record my song and lay it over the song. I was afraid of how it would turn out, I didn't want any background noise. However, it sounded pretty perfect! My main concern for this video was the time. I spent a lot of editing time today on just getting a rough draft. Today's editing was actually pretty easy, I had no issue that I couldn't handle. Tomorrow I plan to actually enhance it and make it nicer. I have also been thinking about trying to find a new way to edit. iMovie is pretty good but I would rather be able to work on my laptop and edit from there. Editing today was pretty fun! It's still my favorite part of these projects. Seeing all my footage, picking the right scene from takes, and putting it all together is so relaxing. I think I also like this process because I can do it all alone and don't need to rely on others.

Park Heat

Today I filmed more! After yesterday, I wasn't feeling too scared of filming. I started to film the car scenes today. I think the hardest part of filming the car scenes was getting everyone out of the house. I slightly switched the scenes because it would be easier to do it this way. So instead of me driving my mom drove and I was in the back seat. I wanted to make it seem like an Uber situation. I filmed  the driving away scene at the same time. There were a lot of retakes because I wanted to get it just right. I also decided that I wanted to change the park scenes. I chose to lurk around corners trying not to get spotted. I wanted to do this rather  than looking from inside the car. This wasn’t the hardest part it was just a little awkward because I was in public. I felt people kept looking my way. I also chose to wear all black for those scenes to really portray the stalker look but it wasn’t the best because  I started to get hot. I took a short break. I ordered some food and I ate preparing for the next few scenes. The only difficult part about filming most of this was getting everyone out of the house and outside long enough to film everything. But it wasn’t as bad as I had thought. Then we were done with the filming.  everyone was tired and hot and just wanted to go back home.

House Filming

I started Filming today. I started with all the house scenes and I was excited to start most of it. Although I was still nervous about smoothness. The hardest part about all the house scenes was getting the timing right for the text messages. I couldn’t get it right a few times but I decided to ask my friend to help by texting me at an exact time. Overall it was mostly easy but I kept laughing through most of it. My brother was filming most of it for me so I thought it was funny and kept laughing. I also had to switch some of the scenes. I didn’t want to do what I had written because of convenience. It was easier to just do the shrine as a box. I honestly enjoyed most of the filming and I hope we get another project like this one. I started to get hungry about halfway through so I took a break for about 30 minutes. As soon as I got back I started to get back into filming.I did the rest of the scenes and that was it. Tomorrow I plan to go to the park to finish filming. Originally I planned on doing the stalking scenes with a friend. However, I have now decided to do them with my brother instead while my mom films.

Title Website Research

For my title design research, I get to explore two really cool websites. The two websites are artofthetitle.com and watchthetitles.com.These...
