Today was my first day of editing. I didn't realize just how much footage I had! My original video was nearly 1 minute and 30 seconds long! I had to do a lot of cutting and minor speeding up of things. I feel my video is also too choppy. In an attempt to minimize choppiness, I added some transitions which seemed to help. To my surprise, on iMovie, I couldn't simply upload my song to my video. At first, I was really worried as to how I would add it. Then I remembered they have a voiceover option that I used for my commercial! I ended up using the voiceover feature to record my song and lay it over the song. I was afraid of how it would turn out, I didn't want any background noise. However, it sounded pretty perfect! My main concern for this video was the time. I spent a lot of editing time today on just getting a rough draft. Today's editing was actually pretty easy, I had no issue that I couldn't handle. Tomorrow I plan to actually enhance it and make it nicer. I have also been thinking about trying to find a new way to edit. iMovie is pretty good but I would rather be able to work on my laptop and edit from there. Editing today was pretty fun! It's still my favorite part of these projects. Seeing all my footage, picking the right scene from takes, and putting it all together is so relaxing. I think I also like this process because I can do it all alone and don't need to rely on others.
